Professional and specialized work providing support, information, and resources for citizens of the community in crisis or in need of support; advocates for individuals needing help, identifies resources, and facilitates options to create a better quality of life. Work includes building and establishing relationships and completing intake information for persons needing support and assistance. Work also includes performing initial interviews, listening to problems, identifying issues, documenting case notes, and compiling documents as necessary; and related work as required.
1. A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited college or university.*
2. Five (5) years of professional experience in the field of Social Work, Social Welfare or Public Health.
3. Possession of Licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.*
A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for related experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
This is an original entrance examination.
