Basic Purpose of the JobUnder general supervision from the Utility Division Superintendent and Utility Lead
Worker. Performs manual labor and equipment operation for the installation of water meters. Learns and adheres to city safety standards.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Work under the general direction and guidance of the Utility Superintendent and Lead
Worker. Must be able to work under minimal supervision and exercise sound independent judgment.

Physical Demands: Requires ability to perform heavy manual labor. Strenuous physical work requiring
ability to lift fifty pounds frequently and one hundred pounds occasionally; frequent lifting, carrying,
walking and standing, hand/eye coordination. Occasional hand/eye coordination for operation of
equipment; vision for reading and installing meters in dimly lit pits; frequent speech communication,
hearing and listening to maintain communications with employees and citizens.
Work Environment: Outside work, with exposure to outside elements. Requires driving and walking
during inclement weather. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel,
crouch, twist or crawl. Possible exposure to pesticides and herbicides, and occasional exposure to loud
noise and airborne particles.

- Install residential water meters.

Job Requirements- Ability to interpret and follow directions and instructions.
- Ability to read maps and accurately record addresses and numbers.
- Ability to safely operate a variety of hand tools.
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Ability to comply with safety standards.
Licensures & Certificates (must be active and current.)- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Previous experience in similar position preferred.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
