EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The Monroe Fire Department is currently seeking an Assistant Chief to provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational/administrative oversight for our department. This is a unique opportunity to be an integral part of a team committed to excellence in firefighting, emergency response, and community safety.RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership Excellence: Provide visionary leadership and mentorship to a diverse team of firefighters, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.Strategic Planning: Assist the Fire Chief in developing and implementing strategic plans, policies, and procedures to meet department goals.Operational/Administrative Oversight: Oversee daily operation / administration of the department, ensuring effective deployment of resources and efficient emergency response.Training and Development: Oversight of training programs for department personnel to enhance skills and maintain certifications.Community Engagement: Collaborate with community stakeholders, agencies, and organizations to promote fire safety education and awareness. Work on preparing and implementing succession plan for continuous improvement and development.Budget Management: Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets, ensuring responsible fiscal practices.
