1 Engineering Inspector Job in TX, TX
City of Midland is Hiring an Engineering Inspector Near TX, TX
- Inspect concrete forms, materials and workmanship for compliance with plans and specifications. Test materials and workmanship as required.
- Maintain daily records on projects including emergency telephone numbers for key people.
- Maintain inspection project files for all phases of construction for each project. Provide information to update record drawings.
- Inspect traffic control devices for compliance with plans and the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Make safety inspections to note deficiencies for correction.
- Analyze field construction problems and assists engineers with recommending corrections.
- Assist in performing survey work as requested by Engineering staff.
- Coordinate with traffic, utility companies, landowners, etc. before and during construction.
- Act as project field coordinator for contractors, utility companies and city departments.
- Research utility locations and right of way, assemble plat and deed information and produces plan views.
- As appropriate, trains and evaluates the progress of other employees.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Perform all testing of water and wastewater main installation
Ability to bend, kneel and climb while inspecting construction sites. Inspection duties will require enough physical strength to lift inspection and surveying equipment regularly.
