City of Midland, MI is Hiring a Firefighter (Open Positions: 1) Near Midland, MI

THE POSITION: Under direct supervision during an assigned twenty-four hour shift, an employee in this class performs general firefighting duties in the protection and preservation of lives and property, and responds to a large volume of medical assistance calls. All firefighters are subject to call-in for emergency service when fires or other disasters occur during their off-duty hours. This is the entrance class in the City of Midland fire service. New employees receive proper training before assignment to a regular shift.
WORKING HOURS: The Fire Department work week averages 56 hours. Employees of the department work on a platoon system of 24 hours on and 24 hours off with four consecutive days off after every third working day.
