ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Works under the direction of the Waste Treatment Plant Maintenance Manager. Directs and coordinates work of subordinate personnel in the maintenance of electronic and computerized control systems (instrumentation) and electrical equipment associated with the dewatering facilities and sludge disposal operations. Provides training, work direction, and evaluates performance of assigned personnel. Evaluates work demands and makes daily assignments. Maintains inventory of equipment and parts, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and secured. Develops and implements preventative maintenance program for equipment. Maintains and utilizes the Computer Maintenance System (CMS). Interprets personnel policies and contract memorandum. Conducts disciplinary action according to established practices and confers with workers' representatives to resolve grievances. Assists subordinates with the performance of tasks to achieve completion when necessary. Conducts inspections by driving to various facility locations.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned from time to time.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires ability to inspect indoor plant sites. Requires ability to inspect outdoor work sites which involves walking in fields and wooded areas . Requires climbing and stooping. Must be able to communicate with staff, management, public, and health and environmental representatives. Requires ability to operate personal computer. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed outdoors and in treatment plant environment including exposure to inclement weather conditions, extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and noise. Frequently travels to inspect and visit facility locations.
Minimum Qualifications: High school graduate and must possess a valid Journeyman Electrician License and six (6) years of industrial electrical experience in preventative maintenance and repair of electrical and instrumentation machinery and equipment similar to that used in a large volume wastewater treatment plant such as high voltage switch gears, motors, and electrical/computerized systems; or any combination of experience or training which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver license as a condition of continued employment. One (1) year of the six (6) years' experience in a supervisory capacity preferred. Knowledge of computers and CMS preferred.
