City of Medford is Hiring a Line Dance Instructor (PT) Near Medford, MA
POSITION:Line Dance Instructor (Part-Time)
DEPARTMENT: Council on Aging
HOURS OF WORK: Part-time (Average 2hours/weekly within time of Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm)
SALARY: $35 per Class (Non-union)
BASIC FUNCTION:
To Develop and implement a Line Dancing Class for the Medford Senior Center.
SUPERVISION: Works under the direction of the Director of Elder Affairs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The class will take place once a week on site.
To apprise the director of any equipment/music needs.
Ability to teach using various dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level.
Develop dance curriculums and prepare lesson plans.
Ability to communicate with a diverse group of students.
Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.
Once a Year offer an Exhibition to the Public at the Senior Center.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Background Line Dancing/Dancing Instructor, with at least one year of experience in working with an older population. References and copy of certification required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge: Knowledge of various dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level.
Skills: Good communication skills with a diverse student population.
Abilities: Ability to appropriately communicate with elderly residents and those with special needs.
