Responsibilities:
Performs all tests associated with drinking water.
Performs chemical examinations of untreated raw and treated potable water for pH, turbidity, chlorine, residual, total organic carbon and other water examination tests.
Order lab chemicals, equipment and merchandise for lab and plant operators.
Operate water plant as needed including backwashing filters, adjusting chemical dosage rates, etc.
Maintains records of all tests performed and keeps logs of plant operations. Records readings from meters and gauges.
Takes samples of water for testing.
Performs other related duties as assigneD
Experience:
- Previous experience in water treatment or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with logic controllers and distributed control systems is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Knowledge of basic math for calculations and measurements
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and repairs
- Experience with wastewater treatment processes is beneficial
- Ability to plumb and connect pipes, valves, and tanks
