Position Summary Apply by 5/31/24 for first review. This position is responsible for on-site wellness coordination and providing staff support and leadership for a comprehensive wellness program for the Marysville Police Department. Responsibilities also include networking with the Department's Crisis Support Program Staff (Chaplaincy), Peer Support, Family Support Groups, and Police Staff Psychological Support. This position is responsible for overseeing the development of programs and grants to support staff wellness, fitness, and overall employee resilience.
The work performed is of a highly confidential and complex nature and requires independent judgment and application of professional knowledge and expertise within a general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor.

- Leads a comprehensive wellness program.
- Provides direct support to Officers and Department Staff.
- Coordinates, plans, and facilitates health and fitness activities and programs for all employees.
- Plans and implements classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote healthy lifestyles.
- Develops promotional and publicity plans for wellness and fitness programs throughout the organization.
- Compiles statistical summaries of participant data, class attendance, and equipment inventories to ensure proper detailed program evaluation.
- Assists the Assistant Police Chief in the development of budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program.
- Develops and delivers educational presentations and training programs.
Qualifications A combination of the experience, education, and training listed below which provides an equivalent background to perform the work of this position.
Experience: - Five years of experience in wellness program implementation / management / development, or equivalent experience.
Education and Training: - Bachelor's degree in health education, mental health and addictions, community social services, or related field (Law Enforcement, Firefighter, First Responder).
Licenses or Certificates: - Must possess, or have the ability to possess within one month of hire date, a Washington State Driver's License.
Other: - Must be able to successfully pass an extensive background check including a polygraph exam.
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony offense.

This position works a schedule that may include all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbents may be called in to work at irregular times in emergency situations or to attend meetings as needed.
