City of Marietta, GA is Hiring a Risk Coordinator Near Marietta, GA

The Human Resources Coordinator provides technical and administrative support to the Risk Management Division by assisting the Risk Manager with the administration of a broad range of risk management responsibilities including property and casualty and workers’ compensation claims management; the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance; and the Department of Labor commercial driver’s license (CDL) random testing program. The incumbent is the first point of contact for visitors and callers to the Human Resources and Risk Management Department and is responsible for greeting them, answering questions of lower complexity, and directing them to relevant staff for resolution. Work performed generally involves specialized/ technical subject matter and may require familiarity with federal laws and City policies and procedures pertaining to area of assignment. Assignments are usually performed with general instructions, guidance, and minimal supervision. Duties are performed in an office environment during normal business hours of department.

  • Performs office reception duties; receives telephone calls and provides information regarding the operations and procedures of the assigned area; refers difficult or unusual situations to relevant staff.
  • Being a point of contact for a range of staff and external stakeholders.
  • Assists the Risk Manager with general claims handing tasks, which include claims reporting, verification of claim closings for monthly billing, and claims data analysis.
  • Receives and processes Workers’ Compensation first report or injury (WC-1) filings.
  • Supports the Risk Manager in general administrative tasks and the insurance renewal process by gathering required submission information from various departments.
  • Establishes and maintains electronic filing system; document retention files to include the identification, indexing, and storage of information on appropriate software.
  • Maintain and organize files/documentation.
  • Researches varied records and files; responds to open records requests for court cases and arbitration hearings; retrieves and provides information according to department policy and procedures.
  • Supports the Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Program which includes coordinating random drug testing, tracking drug testing results, and liaising with the Third-Party Administrator and our preferred providers.
  • Maintains records related to the City of Marietta’s Drug and Alcohol testing.
  • Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material.
  • Liaise with the Fleet Services Division to update the vehicle schedule used for insurance coverage; coordinate with business units to ensure vehicle schedules are routinely updated.
  • Maintains the Human Resources Calendar andGemNet Human Resources page.
  • Coordinate submissions and prepare the Human Resources quarterly newsletter.
  • Monitors office supply inventory and prepares requisitions for supplies, printing, and other services.Maintains and updates appropriate account balances and reconciles issues.
  • Reconciles, process and submits various invoices for payment for the department supplies and insurance policies.
  • Create and maintain numerous databases and excel sheets.
  • Assist Risk Manager and other department staff as needed.
  • Performs related duties as directed.
