Under the direction of the Planning Director and in close coordination with the Manitou Springs Police Department, this position enforces Municipal Codes within the City of Manitou Springs regarding such issues as abandoned and unregistered vehicles, vegetation control, signage, housing code, zoning code, property maintenance, building permits, environmental health, and business/rental/vendor licenses. The Code Enforcement Officer II will conduct site inspections and assists the Planning Department with zoning code, development plans, permit issuance and design review compliance. The position also works closely with the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department to ensure enforcement and compliance with permitting and building codes and with local law enforcement to ensure all code violations are effectively prosecuted. The Code Enforcement Officer II will provide educational materials to the public and attend meetings with elected and appointed officials, school groups and civic organizations as required.
