Job DescriptionWe encourage all qualified men and women to apply to the Lynn Haven Police Department. Successful applicants will serve as Police Officers who will protect life and property by working to prevent crime and by enforcing laws and ordinances. Police Officers are responsible for the prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes. Duties may include various specialized assignments, and the work requires the use and exercise of independent judgment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Florida driver's license, and a law enforcement certificate issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. Candidates must successfully complete FCIC/NCIC certification within six (6) months of employment.
Police Officers work 12-hour shift assignments, and all days off rotate and are varied to meet the needs of a 24-hour, 7-day a week operation in an emergency response environment. Candidates must be available for various shifts and various rotating days off. Weekend and holiday work is required.
