This position is responsible for tracking city contracts, preparing appropriate bid documents, assisting with bid openings, scoring, and selection, identifying grant and funding opportunities for the City, preparing grant applications and proposals, and ensuring compliance with contract and grant requirements. It requires someone who can research new fields and areas, prepare scope of work and grant applications or reports, and ensure compliance with city-wide purchasing policies. Candidates should have a degree in public administration, business, liberal arts or related field and at least three years of progressive experience in the contract & grant acquisition field. This position requires expert writing and communication skills as well as expert computer skills with advanced software related to planning and budgeting. It also requires someone who pays attention to detail and can meet deadlines.
