City of Longview is Hiring a Human Services Program Coordinator Near Longview, TX

Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, supervises and evaluates projects and programs in support of the activities of Partners in Prevention; coordinates and administers grand funding; organizes and oversees volunteer events; prepares and submits various types of program records and reports; coordinates and implements municipal prevention programs and activities; performs community outreach; markets the City’s Partners in Prevention programs and services; plans and executes community awareness events; serves as liaison to committees; performs other related duties.Serves as project administrator for the accountable communities for health program to address impact issues of health equity, community engagement and governance. Serves as staff liaison for an array of community programming events related to the Unity and Diversity Committee, and/or other assigned prevention committees addressing various topics such as disabilities and homelessness; coordinates and hosts monthly meetings; recruits new committee members. Assists committees in planning local prevention events, forums, and mini conventions; collaborates with committee members in designing prevention media campaigns. Partners with law enforcement representatives in relation to crime prevention initiatives/events. Serves as Events Coordinator; plans and executes various types of community awareness events, festivals, luncheons, health and wellness programs, and/or other assigned functions. Markets and promotes events to the community; sends out event invitations to local, State, and Federal government officials; requests and obtains letters of support. Prepares and disseminates various types of marketing collateral for events/programs including Public Service Announcements (PSA’s), flyers, brochures, and advertisements. Plans, coordinates, and implements media blitzes; liaises with local media representatives to secure appropriate media coverage for events. Solicits event donations; books event vendors, merchants, exhibitors, and entertainment. Responds to public inquiries regarding Partners in Prevention programs, services, and events, including public speaking and presentations about programs. Serves on various committees and/or boards as assigned or appointed. May supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; monitors and ensures staff/volunteer compliance with program policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Performs other related duties as assigned or required. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field, and two years program/outreach experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
National Incident Management System (NIMS) ICS certifications may be required depending on area of assignment. Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.Work is performed in a standard office environment and in the field when implementing special events and/or other program activities. Subject to sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
