City of Lompoc is Hiring a PT GENERAL (Technician) - Water Utility Intern Near Lompoc, CA
The City of Lompoc is seeking candidates for an intern position in the Utility Department. Under the direct supervision, the position assists technical, professional and administrative functions performing functions involving record keeping, information processing, service to the public and clerical support for the Water Utility division; and performs other specifically related work as required. Application Process: Candidates must complete a City employment application. All completed applications will be reviewed. Examination Process: Based on the information provided, the best qualified applicants will be invited for further examination. The examination process will consist of, but not limited to, an interview. Subsequently, top candidates may be invited for follow-up interview with the Division Manager. Selection Process: The candidate ultimately chosen for the position, as authorized by City and state policy, will be subject to a background investigation and live scan fingerprinting for purposes of investigating criminal history for certification and employment consideration. Failure in any one part of the examination or selection process will disqualify a candidate from further consideration.

· Water Utility Procedures
· Utility Conservation
· Access and Excel Databases The position is part time, with a flexible schedule of 15-19 hrs/week in Lompoc.
Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position. The typical qualifying entrance background is:
Some customer service experience
One year of clerical and/or office experience
Pursuing a college degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75
Microsoft Office Suite experience; specifically with Word and Excel
Familiarity with using a keyboard and computer operating systems
Willing to travel to Lompoc 2-3 days a week and have reliable transportation.
