Description:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled and manual labor grounds maintenance work, landscaping work, including the operation of light to medium motorized equipment.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of a standard senior high school or equivalent and experience equivalent to one (1) year full-time landscaping/grounds maintenance work. Must possess or be able to obtain a non-commercial Pesticide Applicator's License within six months of hire date. Must possess a Utah Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at a level appropriate to the equipment operated. Must be able to perform moderately heavy physical activity to push, pull or lift at least fifty (50) pounds. Ability to handle stressful situations as a result of human behavior. Must be able to work weekends, nights and holiday shifts. Must be able to work in all types of weather and seasonal conditions. Must be able to get in and out of vehicles repeatedly.
Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will be responsible for mowing lawns, trimming and pruning trees, shrubs, bushes and plants, applying pesticides and fertilizers, operating equipment such as riding lawn mowers, string trimmers, chain saws, tractors, push mowers, utility vehicles, pickup trucks and snow removal equipment. Clean and maintain park facilities, restrooms. Performs maintenance/repairs on equipment.
