City of Lewisville is Hiring a Parks Mowing Inspector Near Lewisville, TX
Inspects work performed by contractors and park staff to ensure compliance with contract specifications as well as adherence to park facility standards of care.
Conduct inspection of parks to ensure compliance with park standards of care levels, ordinances and permits.
Prepare reports and communicate status of services to Park Operations leadership.
Conduct inspections of mowing, trash removal and tree contract services and measure against contract scope and specifications.
Communicate with contractor representatives regarding completion of work and compliance with contract scope and specifications.
Assist with Parks and Recreation special events, attend event meetings when assigned.
Attend Parks and Recreation departmental meetings and trainings.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience
6 months of experience in contract compliance, inspections and creating reports.
Any combination of related, education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the job's essential functions is an acceptable substitute for the above-specified education and experience requirements.REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of turf management.
Knowledge of park management maintenance such as irrigation, horticulture. arboriculture, pesticides, herbicides, and playground safety.
Knowledge of use of landscape and facility maintenance equipment.
Ability to:
Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
Ability to follow instructions, safety practices and standard operating procedures in performing assigned tasks.
Ability to set priorities, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
Ability to be punctual and attend work regularly.
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
Ability to work effectively with contractors, city personnel and management.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Skills:
Skill in use of personal computer including Microsoft Office, e-mail, and the internet.
Skills in operating small machinery such as push mowers, edger’s and weed eaters.
Other Requirements:
Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test, physical and functional capacity test.
Must possess a valid State of Texas Drivers License Class “C” and good driving record as defined by City policy.
An applicant who does not possess a Texas Driver's License or proper class, will be allowed ten (10) working days after a job offer is made to obtain proper licensing.
Must obtain a chemical applicator license, turf management certification, certified arborist, or project management certification within 6 months of hire date.
