Rate of Pay: $24.35 - $26.61

Job Summary

Prepares and finalizes minutes for public boards and commissions as assigned. Works under the broad administrative direction of the City Clerk.


Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Attend meetings (mostly evening meetings), take notes and provide audio recordings of City Boards, Committees and Commission as assigned.

Prepares drafts and final sets of minutes for assigned boards, committees and commissions.

Assures accuracy of all drafted minutes, correcting grammar, content and for of material as needed.

Meetings generally start at 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. and vary in length of time, typically from 1 to 3.5 hours each.

A Recording Secretary usually receives three (3) to five (5) meetings per month this may vary depending upon meetings and agendas. A 2-hour minimum is paid for each meeting.

Recommended Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Requirements

Knowledge of office practices and procedures; knowledge of business English, spelling and
vocabulary; skilled with use of computers and modern office equipment.

High School Diploma.
