Plans, organizes and manages the daily operations and staff involved in utilities accounting, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow and utility warehouse operation and controls.

Full time, regular, exempt position.Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Utility Regulation Management, or directly-related field PLUS four years of experience in utility operations accounting, or directly-related field, which includes supervisory/management experience. A combination of education, experience, and training may be applied in accordance with City of Las Cruces policy.
A valid driver’s license is required. Position requires an acceptable driving record in accordance with City of Las Cruces policy.
Extensive knowledge of: Principles and practices of accounting, economics, statistics, finance and cost accounting principles; generally accepted accounting principles; forecasting; economic and statistical principles and budgeting concepts for utility operations, data collection and analysis; advanced statistics; principles and practices of effective employee supervision; principles and practices of administrative management.
Ability to: Develop and analyze overall utility operation financial performance; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; perform complex technical reading and writing and mathematical calculations; perform complex problem solving; effectively utilize presentation and data base applications.
Skills in: Personal computer and software application use.
