City of Lakeville, MN is Hiring a Program leader Near Lakeville, MN

Salary : $12.39 - $12.91 Hourly

Location : Lakeville, MN

Job Type : Seasonal

Department : Recreation

Opening Date : 01 / 24 / 2024

Position

Primary objective of the Position :

To plan, promote, lead and assist with recreational programs and special events. Primary focus is children age 3-12. Programs will be at various locations in Lakeville including City parks.

Position is 15-20 hours per week. Open until filled.

New starting wage : $12.39 / hour.

First review of candidates will begin on February 20, 2024.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Lead diversified recreational programs including sports, games, nature and music activities, crafts and special events for children from 3 - 12 years of age.
  • Create and implement program plans. Prepare supplies on a weekly basis, make recommendations for improvement.
  • Relate to parents and general public in a helpful and professional manner.
  • Responsible for proper care and safe use of all equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in staff training, weekly planning and staff meetings.
  • Set up and clean up activity area including building and grounds.
  • Complete attendance records, accident reports, evaluations and other work as requested by the supervisor.
  • Work under the direction and in cooperation with supervisors and co-workers.

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Genuine desire to work with children ages 3 -12 in an outdoor setting.
  • Ability to establish a good working environment with program participants, parents, supervisors and co-workers.
  • Ability to create a positive, fun and educational program environment for all children. This may include children with various disabilities.
  • Ability to plan and lead creative activities.
  • One (1) year or more experience with children ages 3-12 desired.
