The City of Lake Oswego is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Recreation Supervisor II with the Adult Community Center. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with knowledge of Parks and Recreation programming to serve in a progressive, innovative community.

The Recreation Supervisor II is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising all human service programs for older adults of all abilities, including transportation and Meals on Wheels. This position reports directly to the Adult Community Center Manager. 

• Prepares and oversees the annual budget for the Division’s human service programs; monitors expenses and revenues; assists in long-range program planning. 
• Recruits, hires, trains and supervises support staff and volunteers. Prioritizes and develops work plans; and evaluates staff performance.
• Supervises program staff, instructors, contractors and volunteers including prioritizing and developing work plans, evaluating staff performance, conducting evaluations, and provides training and development.
• Acts as liaison to other departments, volunteer boards, City committees, the general public including and contracted service providers. 
• Answers questions and resolves conflicts. Recommends changes in programs, updates policies and procedures.
• Coordinates and runs meetings.
• Develops and coordinates promotional and marketing materials including print and social media. 
• Oversees and supervises the development of human service programs by facility staff, works with staff to develop schedules ensuring space.

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is with a Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Recreation Management or Leisure Services and five years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
