The City of Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation Department is seeking applications for a Recreation Specialist II – Sports Coordinator. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of sports programs, classed or activities such as sports leagues, sports drop-in activities, sports lessons, and sports camps. Additional duties include training of personnel, directing work activities, developing schedules, making hiring recommendations, conducting activity evaluations and making suggestions, and independence in decision making. This position will also coordinate with athletic field staff on field reservations and maintenance.
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation with a Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Recreation Management or Leisure Services; and four years of related work or a High School diploma or G.E.D; and two years of college in a related field and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Must be CPR and First Aid certified.
Positions in this classification are required to possess a valid driver’s license and ability to meet the City’s driving standards.
