City of Joplin, Missouri is Hiring a Communications Specialist Near Joplin, MO

I’m looking to fill two Commuication Specialist positions to round out the dream team we are assembling as we build the City of Joplin’s new Department of Marketing and Communications. Lynn Onstot is our PIO (20 years of experience doing media relations for the City) and we’re in the process of filling a webmaster role. The last two key pieces we need are a Social Media Specialist and a Video Specialist.

The Communications Specialist (Social Media and Graphic Design) will coordinate content calendars for several social media accounts, generate creative content, assist with administrative tasks, and serve as a copy writer. Photography and graphic design skills are a huge plus! Experience with email marketing and website content will also make you a good fit.

The Communications Specialist (Video/Multi-Media) will produce video content. If you’re talented at planning, shooting, editing, and post production (including motion graphics and closed captioning) this would be a great role for you. Skill with still photography using a DSLR considered a plus. We want to get you lighting and other gear to use for indoor studio shoots as well as outdoor set ups.
