City of Issaquah is Hiring a Day Camp Director Near Issaquah, WA

Do you want to be guaranteed free weeknights & weekends to hang out with friends?
If so, the City of Issaquah needs YOU this summer to help us live up to our incredible day camp reputation! As Camp Director, you have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of both staff and campers by creating a memorable experience! One Director and one Assistant Director is needed at each Day Camp site.
Day Camp Programs:
  • Kindercamp serves up to 50 campers, grades K – 2
    25-40 hours/week; 7am – 6pm for 8 weeks
    Monday – Friday, June 24 – August 16, 2024
    Mandatory Staff Training: June 17 - 21 (excluding June 19)
  • Camp 'Quah serves up to 60 campers, grades 2 - 5
     25-40 hours/week; 7am – 6pm for 9 weeks
     Monday – Friday, June 24 – August 23, 2024
     Mandatory Staff Training: June 17 - 21 (excluding June 19)
  • Adventure Camp serves up to 40 campers, grades 5 – 7
     25-40 hours/week; 7am – 6pm for 8 weeks
     Monday – Friday, June 24 – August 16, 2024
     Mandatory Staff Training: June 17 -21 (excluding June 19)
     
  • Campamento ‘Quah** serves up 60 Spanish-Speaking & Dual-Language campers, grades 2-5
    40 hours/week for 2 weeks
    Monday – Friday, August 5 – 9, 2024 and August 12 – 16, 2024
    Mandatory Staff Training: June 17 - 21 (excluding June 19)
    **Must speak fluent Spanish or be in High School Spanish 3 to be considered for this position.

  • Always ensure the safety of staff and campers.
  • Create a positive and inclusive camp culture that fosters growth and development.
  • Positively model behavior and leadership traits for staff and campers.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor, staff, campers, and families.
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively with your team.
  • Plan, prepare and facilitate daily activities and schedules.
  • Organize and maintain camp facilities in terms of safety & cleanliness.
  • Effectively manage any conflicts or issues that may arise.
  • Must show a passion for working with children and creating a fun, active, and positive environment.
  • Must show strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must be a minimum of 19-years-old.
  • Must pass a criminal background check prior to onboarding.
  • Must have current CPR & AED certification by first day of camp. City will offer training.
