City of Indianapolis & Marion County is Hiring a Manager- Maintenance Operations DPW Fleet Services Near Indianapolis, IN

JOB
To provide all general administration and supervision in support of all Indianapolis Fleet Services maintenance facilities.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Manage and coordinate all fleet maintenance services performed at the service centers.
Will be required to develop and manage a service quality program, which may include test driving vehicles to diagnose problems or to ensure the vehicles have been properly repaired.
Review work orders for completeness and information accuracy.
Identify training needs and coordinate training for maintenance technicians at assigned service center.
Responsible for all general planning and administration of all service centers.
Ensure that all shop equipment is safe and operational, and coordinate all repairs to such equipment. Coordinate the repair and maintenance of the facility and grounds, including reporting service requests to IMCBA Liaison.
Initiate requests for and ensure availability of required equipment, tools, and materials. Responsible for maintaining fixed asset inventory of equipment assigned to the service centers.
Establish and maintains technical libraries.
Provide input on vehicle specifications and make recommendations regarding the disposal of vehicles and equipment. Checks in new equipment upon delivery.
Prepare reports as requested.
Prepare and submit recommendations for preparation of the yearly Budget.
Advise Deputy Director on matters relative to welfare of personnel, reassignment and training of supervised employees, including and conducting first step grievance hearings.
Ensure that all employees follow safety procedures as described in the Employee Safety Handbook.
Responsible for the adherence to the City of Indianapolis' Policy and Procedure Manual regarding the hiring and termination of subordinates, planning and scheduling work by setting priorities and goals, reviewing and evaluating work product and performance, monitoring progress of work upon completion of assignments, directing the training of subordinates, and providing counseling and disciplinary action.
