Compensation and Benefits:
Hiring Salary Range : $46,315.00 - $60,941.00 Full Salary Range : $46,315.00 - $82,880.00

Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The Payroll Technician position is responsible for assisting the Payroll Supervisor in all the components of the payroll operation required to ensure that employees are paid timely and accurately. This employee will prepare a portion of deductions from employees' pay and fringe benefits funded by the City to various agencies, file reports within specified deadlines and reconcile them to financial records. The payroll technician uses defined policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, generally accepted accounting principles, and all facets of Infor's payroll system and Kronos timekeeping system to ensure payroll for all employees is calculated correctly. This employee is responsible for providing confidential assistance to employees from all pay grades within the organization to help them understand pay transactions and resolve any issues related to pay and/or deductions. This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
This position is required to deal with both external and internal customers in a confidential manner because of the nature of data being handled on a daily basis. A credit background check is assessed for position.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or higher
    • "OR" High School Diploma with 5 to 7 years experience in a payroll-related position with responsibility for pay calculations and payroll account balancing.
  • 1 to 3 years experience in a payroll-related position with responsibility for pay calculations and payroll account balancing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using Crystal reports or Infor add-ins to extract data from Infor.
  • Experience with Infor System payroll module and/or Kronos Timekeeping System.
