JOB SUMMARY
Groundskeeper 1 maintains the right of ways for City maintained roadways and state highways located within the City limits. Personnel must have the ability to walk an average of 4-6 miles per day in adverse weather conditions, primarily in the heat for the duration of the summer months. Personnel’s primary daily tools are as follows: edger, weed eater, push blower, backpack blower, push mower, and zero turn mower. Groundskeeper 1 is a high volume, commercial style, fast paced job.
This position performs semi-skilled and manual work in maintenance and repair of municipal streets, building and various grounds, parks, median strips, recreational areas, fields, and facilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force to move objects. Also requires the following physical abilities: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, manual dexterity, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed outside in varying weather conditions with dust, vibrations, fumes, and noise, with exposure to chemicals (insecticides and herbicides), and at heights up to 15 feet.
