City of Grandview, MO is Hiring an Assistant Court Clerk (Part-Time) - Municipal Courts Near Grandview, MO

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Court Clerk supports the efficient operation of the municipal court by providing clerical and administrative assistance to court personnel. They assist in maintaining court records, processing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with court procedures and regulations. Must work Monday evening court sessions.

Job Responsibilities (Include, but not limited to)

· Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of court proceedings, including case files, judgments, and orders

· Case Management: Assist in managing court dockets, scheduling hearings, and coordinating with judges, attorneys, and other parties involved in court proceedings

· Customer Service: Provide assistance and information to individuals accessing the court system, including answering inquiries, explaining court procedures, and assisting with forms and applications

· Data Entry: Enter case-related information into electronic databases and case management systems. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information

· Financial Duties: Processes payments for fines, and fees associated with court cases. Reconcile financial transactions and balance daily financial reports

· Courtroom Support: Provide support during court sessions, including preparing courtrooms, recording docket entries as ordered by the municipal judge

· Collaboration: Collaborate with court staff, law enforcement agencies, legal professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of court functions

· Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and court policies. Assist in preparing reports and statistics as required by supervisory personnel or regulatory agencies

· Administrative Support: Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, copying, scanning, and answering phones. Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned

· Responds to record requests within State guidelines

· Completes fingerprint cards and submits to State Authority

· Sorts, organizes and refiles cases after court completion into corresponding case dockets

· Manages warrant files

· All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School Graduate or equivalent; typing at least 45 w.p.m.; accurate data entry skills; team player; strong attention to detail; strong multi-tasking skills; exceptional customer service telephone and counter skills; and the ability to work with a diverse public. Knowledge of court operations, criminal justice degree or paralegal degree is a plus. Court Clerk experience will be given preference.

Preferred: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus. Having bilingual proficiency can greatly enhance the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, thereby facilitating smoother interactions and improving access to justice for all members of the community.

Physical Demands

Mobility to work in a standard office environment and use standard office equipment. On an intermittent basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time; intermittently walk, stand, bend, squat, twist, and reach while performing office duties. Manual dexterity to use standard office equipment and supplies. Vision to read handwritten and printed material and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and by telephone; ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds such as files, manuals, or equipment.

PAY & Benefits

$15.00 - $16.00 hourly. Part time employees accrue Paid Time Off with paid holidays.
