City of Gladstone is Hiring a P-F MAINTENANCE WORKER Near Gladstone, MO

MAJOR DUTIES: 

- Inspects and maintains City parks, grounds and facilities. 
- Assists in the preparation and administration of the City’s outdoor recreation programs. 
- Maintains and prepares fields, courts and athletic equipment for sporting events. 
- Maintains/cleans grounds, trash collection, fields, restrooms and parking lots. 
- Maintains light machinery such as tractors, trucks and mowers. 
- Changes scoreboard lights. 
- Performs a variety of construction tasks: painting, basic electrical, plumbing and carpentry. 
- Assists in the preparation for special events and maintenance during events. 
- Supervises and trains seasonal employees. 
- Removes snow, ice and debris from severe weather manually and/or using heavy equipment.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned. 
- Available to work evenings, early mornings and weekends, as needed. 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION: 

- Knowledge of hazardous waste removal. 
- Knowledge of turf care and maintenance. 
- Knowledge of chemical applications. 
- Knowledge of general electrical, plumbing, carpentry, water irrigation systems, concrete and painting principles. 
- Knowledge of parks and facilities inspections. 
- Knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance. 
- Knowledge of tree and plant maintenance. 
- Knowledge of custodial procedures. 
- Knowledge of standard care and markings for athletic fields. 
- Knowledge of the set up and take down of temporary fencing, barricades, signs and banners. 
- Skill in directing crowds and traffic. 
- Skill in the operation of heavy equipment, agricultural implements and a variety of mowing equipment. 
- Skill in oral and written communication.
