The City of Garden City is hiring for an Assistant Golf Professional. This position will assist the Golf Professional with the management and operation of Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in conjunction with the Golf Superintendent. Under the direction of the Golf Professional, they supervise clubhouse employees, seasonal employees, and volunteer staff. They also market scheduled activities and professional services to patrons.

• Responsible for the operation of Buffalo Dunes Golf Course when the Golf Professional off the premise.
• Plan and coordinate the junior golf program. 
• Promote, market, sell memberships, tournaments, and merchandise.
• Assists Golf professionals in planning, promoting and coordination of all golf activities.
• Collects and charges fees for all golf activities and golf shop sales.
• Assists the Golf Professional to maintain accurate inventory.
• Ensures that the golf shop is attractively merchandised with bi-monthly display rotation.
• Prepares daily, monthly, and annual reports as requested by the City and Golf Professional.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Golf knowledge; management experience; interpersonal skills/member relations; ability to teach; knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Education, Certification, and Experience:
Apprentice member of the Professional Golfers association; college degree, 2 – 4 years of professional experience. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license. High school diploma or GED is required.
