(Family members are NOT eligible to be referred.) 2 – Onboarding BonusAll seasonal employees that are fully onboarded and ready to work by May 1st will receive a $100* bonus. *All applicable taxes will be deducted from the bonus payments.Great summer opportunity for a position with the Parks Department for the City of Gahanna, Department of Parks & Recreation! We are proud to have over 50 different parks totaling more than 750 acres of parkland. Our team works hard to provide a variety of programs, events, and spaces for residents to connect with the community and the environment.Assists with the maintenance of parks and grounds areas as well as facilities and equipment by performing various manual tasks. Performs construction, janitorial and custodial tasks involved in maintenance of City streets, parks and property. This position typically works 35 hours per week.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Works in the construction, maintenance and repair of parks and recreation facilities, equipment and building and grounds; performs associated paperwork.Performs street tree maintenance, turf and ball field maintenance and landscaping and mowing activities as directed.Performs janitorial and custodial tasks involved in maintenance of City streets, parks and property; includes maintenance and custodial tasks related to restroom facilities.Drive(s) a city vehicle.Handles equipment in a safe and appropriate manner; uses appropriate safety equipment when performing essential and important job functions.Participates in snow removal when necessary.This is heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.** Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required
