Part Time Administrative Assistant – City Hall
Hourly Rate: $13.00-$15.00 DOQ
General Summary: Under direct supervision of the City Treasurer, this part-time position will be responsible for administrative duties within the office. The hours of this position will be approximately 15-20 hours weekly, and could vary based on staff requests and additional seasonal duties. Hours could vary, but will be required to work over the lunch hour breaks, Monday – Friday (approx. 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM)
Supervision: This position will report directly to the City Treasurer, but will perform duties for multiple City Hall staff.
Responsibilities, Duties, and Functions:
1) Act as front desk receptionist during lunch breaks, vacations, and busy times/seasons.
2) Field calls and walk-ins and direct them to the proper City staff.
3) Perform general office duties such as mail, filing, orders, etc.
4) Assist the Deputy Treasurer and City Clerk with data input, scanning, and filing.
5) Assists the office administrator with utility bills and other routine transactions and functions.
6) Provides support for other City staff as needed and required.
Physical Capacity Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee usually works in a business office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but dependent on the location, it can range from moderate to high.
The physical demands would be to stand, walk, use hands and sit for periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items of light weight. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Education & Experience Requirements:
1) High school diploma or GED
2) Prefer one year office experience
3) Knowledge of computer use and general computer programs such as Microsoft office
4) Detail oriented and ability to enter data electronically with training
5) Ability to operate a multi-line phone
6) Skill in assisting visitors and callers in a professional manner
7) Punctuality and good attendance required
