HOURLY RATE: $20.00 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with the maintenance of high-quality data in the Laboratory Information Management System (X-LIMS). Related tasks may include data validation, data queries, and system quality assurance checks.
Support water quality data validation and reporting needs
Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to lab and X-LIMS operations
Assist with sample event preparation, sample preservation, and other basic lab support functions, as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or related Science degree/experience preferred
Proficient with MS Office suite, including Word and Excel
Some LIMS and/or database experience preferred
Basic knowledge of statistical analysis (computation and interpretation of summary statistics)
Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to write, edit, and critique SOPs and technical reports
Familiar with principles of laboratory Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs
Ability to operate basic benchtop equipment such as pH meters, thermometers, vacuum filters
Some experience with laboratory instrument calibrations preferred
Knowledge of Laboratory Safety and Hygiene preferred
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff
Detail oriented team player, able to collaborate
