The City Prosecutor's Office is looking for an Assistant City Prosecutor to assist the City Prosecutor and Deputy City Prosecutor with municipal violations and misdemeanor cases, and civil hearings and appeals, including jury and non-jury trials at the Eugene Municipal Court. This position will also perform duties within the limits of the Eugene Municipal Court policies and the established standards and practices of the legal profession, and advise and interact with related City departments.

Salary Range: $39.97 - $51.95 Hourly / $$83,137.60 - $108,056.00 Annually

Must reside in the state of Oregon and be able to report onsite for work as needed in Eugene, OR to meet business needs.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with flexibility per business need.
Bilingual Pay Benefit: This position qualifies for up to an additional 5% of base salary for bilingual pay. Please see “Supplemental Information” at the end of the posting for more information.

This position could be filled as a full-time regular position or a full-time Limited Duration position:
Limited Duration (LD) Opportunity – Non-represented:
Open to full-time, part-time, LD, Recreation Activity Employee City of Eugene employees.
This LD position could last up to 24 months per business need.
If you are currently an employee, you will not have rights back to your current LD position.
LD employees will receive City health plan coverage and have many of the same benefits as regular employees with some exceptions due to the limited length of employment.
LD employees are at-will employees and do not have a probationary period.
Eligibility List: This posting may also be used to establish an eligibility list of applicants for future vacancies. Candidates that are placed on the eligibility list will be notified via email which will include the duration of the list and how notification of call up will occur.
What to Expect from our Selection Process: Applicants are screened based upon their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training. The selection process varies according to the position and can include such things as screening of supplemental questionnaires, written or skill tests, ability or fitness tests, interviews, and assessment processes. In addition, background investigations and records checks may be required. Some positions also require applicants to have a psychological evaluation and/or physical examination and a drug test prior to employment. Marijuana use is evaluated consistent with current state law regulations. PLEASE NOTE: Once the posting closes, the process can take 4-6 weeks to complete.
Non-Represented Retirement Program: Upon eligibility, the City will contribute an employee contribution of 6%, as well as the employer contribution, to a retirement program administered by the Oregon Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS). In addition, the City will pay a 3% contribution to a deferred compensation program if the employee contributes at least 1%.
Bilingual Pay Benefit: This benefit compensates non-represented employees up to 5% of their base salary. To qualify for bilingual pay, the employee must demonstrate fluency in an eligible language and pass a language proficiency test that is administrated by the City’s Employee Resource Center division.
