Fire Chief

The City of Dodge City is accepting applications for the position of Fire Chief. The current Fire Chief will retire at the beginning of 2025. Our next Fire Chief will:

-Quickly understand growth and diversity of the community. Bilingual is a plus.
-Possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
-Ability to work with and motivate all levels of employees.
-Have the ability to interact with business community and general public.
-Have served as Fire Captain or higher command position for at least two years.
-Have a minimum of (10) ten years progressive work experience in a Fire Department of comparable size.
-Have a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Business Management or Public Administration.
