Water Plant Operator: Produce and provide potable water to the customers and residents of the City of Daytona Beach meeting guidelines and standards set forth by the local, state and federal government agencies. Employees in this classification perform skilled technical work. Position is responsible for collecting samples, monitoring, adjusting and maintaining plant equipment to meet standards.
Wastewater Plant Operator: Maintain and operate the wastewater facility meeting guidelines and standards set forth by the state and federal government. Employees in this classification perform skilled work. Position is responsible for collecting samples, monitoring, adjusting and maintaining plant equipment.
Skills and Abilities Required
Attention to detail, accuracy and safety; perform or learn basic math equations in the performance of analysis and calculation of dosage; read, interpret and follow technical information, directives, manuals, memos and reports; write analysis sheets, reports, inventories, logbooks, work orders and other work requests; communicate clearly in writing and verbally, follow and take oral and written instructions.
Must be able to work hours days as assigned; work under high demands, short time constraints, and pressure of fast-paced work environment; and able to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds).
