City of Davis is Hiring a Playfields Park Concession Stand Worker (2024) Near Davis, CA
Under the direction of the Community Services Program Coordinator, the Playfields Park Concession Stand Worker is responsible for the operational maintenance of the concession stand located at Playfields Park in South Davis. Duties include opening and setting up the facility, waiting on customers, working with both hot and cold foods, inventory control and cleaning of the facility. Most times employees will work alone on weekdays. Work hours are week nights after 5:00 pm and weekends. Hours: Possible work hours include:
Weekday evenings after 5:00pm
Weekend shifts ranging from 7:00am – 10:00pm
Wages: $16.15 – 16.56 per hour/temporary part-time, no benefits
Responsibilities: (Includes but not limited to)
Open/close and set up the facility
Provide customer service at the concession stand and Playfields Park
Work with concession equipment and prepare both hot and cold foods
Maintain inventory control
Clean and maintain the facility
Ability to work independently
Process cash payments and maintain appropriate cash handling procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old
Must be comfortable working alone or with other staff
Must possess customer service skills and basic math skills
Must be available week nights and weekends
Ability to accurately process money transactions and maintain a variety of related records
Ability to maintain inventory and cleanliness of self and area
Ability to follow all regulations in regards to providing safe food service including passing an online food handling safety course
Ability to work May through October (preferable)
Prior food service experience preferred but not required
Physical/Sensory Requirements: This is a moderately sedentary position requiring occasional walking, stooping, crouching, standing and reaching; occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 20 lbs.; perform simple and power grasping and fine manipulation, identify size, shape, temperature and/or texture by touch; verbal and hearing skills to effectively communicate with the public and other staff; visual acuity to read and record documents, operate equipment, and make observations. Work is done indoors with exposure to hazards such as heat, electrical current and moving mechanical parts.
