Job Summary Job Description Overview The Supervisor - Social and Community Services oversees, supervises, and monitors the work of staff and personnel communicating, coordinating, and facilitating community services and programs for the City of Dallas. Essential Functions Supervises, manages, and oversees employees coordinating social and community service requirements for defendants; counsels and advises coordinators, implements changes to policy and procedure to ensure effectiveness and quality, and conducts meeting to disseminate information and ensure needs are being met. Creates, drafts and submits monthly, and quarterly reports regarding the work of the coordinators and services; submits reports to upper management for review. Supervises, directs, and guides to staff to maintain productivity; interviews, recommends, and assists in the overall hiring process for coordinators and social services staff and coordinators; provides performance evaluations and feedback, oversees cases and files, and ensures services are delivered professionally and effectively. Develops and approves schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving goals; recommends or adjusts work priorities, project schedules, resources, and work plans as required; inspects work for quality, evaluates work performance, and recommends awards for employees; gives advice, counsel, instruction, and identifies routine training needs for employees. Oversees, supervises, and manages various special events; participates in meetings and other relative events and spear heads logistics; fosters event success and ensures that the demographics of the community are understood, and the appropriate social services offered; builds relationships and partnerships with the community in order to advise service and support. Monitors all courts and ensures coordinators have appropriate materials and supplies; provides direction and support for various cases, reviews HUD documents for each case, and provides direction and advise for service coordination. Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of case management and coordination. The ability to assess individuals and develop an individual plan of service in a timely manner. Ability to work with various populations and individuals struggling with mental health or other issues. Ability to supervise, coordinate, and direct subordinate staff. Knowledge of computers, software, and related equipment. Ability to develop treatment options, engage clients, and determine effective services. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships. Customer service and interpersonal skills. Experience 3 years in social services, criminal justice, or related field. Licenses and Certifications Texas Driver's License Education High School Diploma, GED Salary Range $54,910.10 - $68,637.63 The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
