City of Commerce City is Hiring a Planner II Near Center, CO

The City of Commerce City is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Planner II to join our team. As a Planner II, you will be responsible for completing current and long-range planning activities, including collecting and analyzing data to produce information, memos, and reports regarding planning-related issues. This journey-level professional and technical planning position provides staff support to the Planning Manager, Director of Community Development, Board of Adjustment, Planning Commission, and City Council. Work is performed with general instructions from a supervisor with considerable latitude for independent initiative and judgment.
In this role, you will research, coordinate, and manage land use cases, review building permit applications, lead pre-app meetings, and handle public hearings. You will also be responsible for conducting timely reviews and maintaining excellent communication with applicants throughout the process.

Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
 
The hiring range is $86,083 - $116,212/annually.

Master's degree in Planning, Urban Design or related field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in planning, or Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Design or related field from an accredited college or university with three years of planning experience. An equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Must possess a valid driver's license. AICP preferred.
