City of Columbia, MO is Hiring a Paratransit Van Driver - 955 Near Columbia, MO

The purpose of this job is to transport passengers in a passenger van on a demand-response system and provide customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description
  • Operates and transports passengers in vans in varying weather conditions.
  • Provides customer service and passenger assistance, including operation of wheelchair lift and securement devices.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Licenses or Certifications
  • Valid Class E Chauffeur license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position
Knowledge of:
  • Streets and locations within Columbia, MO
  • Relevant laws and regulations pertaining to motor vehicles, Federal Transportation Administration (FTA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), public works, and transit policies and procedures.
  • Defensive driving and accident prevention,

  • Operating fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience.
