WATER MAINTENANCE

The City of Collinsville is accepting applications for a seasonal Water Maintenance position in our water distribution department. We are seeking applications from individuals that care about making the City a better place.

Job Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Uses of various hand tools• Manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working in adverse weather conditions.• Cleaning garage, office areas, vehicles, and equipment.• Other general labor duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent is required and the following experience and/or schooling/training is preferred:

• 17 years of age or older.• Technology awareness.• Valid driver's license in good standing (clear driving record)• Must be self-motivated and be productive with limited supervision.• Regular attendance is required.• Good communication skills are required as this position frequently deals directly with the public. Employee is required to maintain an effective working relationship with citizens, property owners, general contractors, etc.• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements

• Walking, standing, stooping, and lifting of various materials and equipment over 50 lbs.• Climbing onto/into and off of/out of equipment is required on a daily basis, as well as climbing into and out of holes, trenches, ditches, etc.• Must be able to endure all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme cold/freezing temperatures, snow & frozen conditions, extreme heat, humidity, rain, etc.

Pay Rate

This position has an hourly rate of $16.00 per hour.
