City of Cleveland Heights is Hiring a Cashier Near Ohio, OH

Incumbents conduct cash transactions, receiving checks and monies and making change, and are responsible to balance a cash drawer. Incumbents are also responsible for customer service by providing information, answering the telephone, and performing related activities.
 The list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only, and is not a comprehensive listing of all the duties and responsibilities performed.
  • Provides customer service to walk-in customers and over the telephone; receives payments; makes change; directs customers and/or callers to appropriate internal individuals; answers routine questions and provides customers with requested forms, information, and/or paperwork
  • Posts revenues to appropriate general ledger accounts utilizing an automated financial accounting system
  • Receives, reviews, routes processes, prepares and issues various licenses and permits
  • Counts, handles, dispenses currency, balances and reconciles multiple cash drawers
  • Maintains a variety of files and information related to department operations
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

  • Communicate and use interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
High School Diploma or G.E.D. and six months experience in cash handling; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
