City of Clayton is Hiring a Data Analyst Near Clayton, MO

The City of Clayton is now recruiting for a Data Analyst- Police Department. The purpose of the Data Analyst role is to provide technical support to the department by processing police report information in the computer system and distribute reports, and other clerical duties.

The mission of the Clayton Police Department is to provide a safe and secure environment for the residents, business community, and visitors in the City of Clayton through the effective and efficient delivery of professional, positive, and innovative services. Long recognized as a leader among municipal police agencies in St. Louis County, the Clayton Police Department consistently endeavors to ensure the quality of its personnel and has historically fielded one of the best-educated, highly trained and most respected police forces in the metropolitan area. In keeping with its tradition as a leader, in the year 2000, the Department was among the first law enforcement agencies in the State of Missouri to successfully achieve accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

Essential duties and responsibilities of the Data Analyst Position:

  • Processes, approves and distributes police reports in the CARE computer system and LETS auto accidents.
  • Reconcile and disperse DWI reports.
  • Distributes dog bite, counterfeit money, and lost/stolen identification reports to respective agencies.
  • Maintains Uniform Crime Reporting for the department.
  • Assists in answering and directing Police Department telephone inquiries to respective officers, divisions and bureaus; to include Parking Control inquires.
  • Prepares crime statistic grids, reports, monthly and yearly statistics.
  • Prepare and disperse statistics based on requests from other agencies and individuals, including Jeanne Clery Act statistics for local and national Universities.
  • Answers walk-in complaints and requests for service.
  • Locates police and arrest records for requesting state and federal agencies, police departments, companies and individuals; to also make copies, collect fees and fax/mail reports.
  • Assist with required background records checks on government employees.
  • Completes dispositions, court expungements, fingerprint cards and state towed vehicle reports.
  • Maintains REJIS entries, modifications, cancellations, packing records and all Monthly Validations; to include MULES and NCIC.
  • Reconciles Bond monies.
  • Processes warrant applications to/from State Prosecutor and correspondence to/from Clayton Prosecutor on status of cases.
  • Files and maintains retention of all police reports, memos, Arrest Logs, LID Logs and statistical reports.
  • Organizes, sorts and delivers mail, faxes, subpoenas and teletypes for the department.
  • Prepares all Orders of Protection from the Courts; entry, packet, packing of record.
  • Serves as the back-up Prosecuting Attorney Assistant when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications of the part-time Police Records Clerk Position:

  • Associates Degree
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience, must include customer service experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must be eligible to be a Missouri Notary

Preferred Qualifications of the Data Analyst Position:

  • REJIS certification.
