CLASS SUMMARY

This is the second of six levels in the Transportation series. Incumbents transport customers in a large passenger vehicle.

Responsibilities may include driving a large bus or van on an assigned route; inspecting assigned vehicle for cleanliness and safety;

performing routine, minor vehicle maintenance; selling tickets and collecting fares; and maintaining records of activities.

TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES : (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

• Drives a bus for the purpose of transporting riders to applicable locations, including special events.
• Performs pre- and post bus inspection activities to identify maintenance needs.
• Performs routine cleaning activities.
• Sells tickets and collects fares.
• Prepares and maintains a variety of operational records and reports.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require) :

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Positions in this class typically require : climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.

Medium Work : Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pound of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, odors, and extreme temperatures.
