Job Description
Chesapeake Juvenile Services is an organization of well trained professionals; dedicated to the positive development of youth, while simultaneously modeling positive behaviors and teaching them to value themselves, their families and their communities which will assist them in experiencing success in life by making appropriate decisions.
In order to completely fulfill this vision, developing services within the community is a vital component. With this in mind, Chesapeake Juvenile Services developed an active Virtual Mentoring program for our Residents. Although Mentors are never relied upon to provide basic services to our residents, their services are utilized to augment existing programming with normally unavailable resources. These serve to expose our residents to new horizon of thought, culture recreation, and spiritual matters which they previously may not have experienced nor subsequently would.
Many people volunteer with the City of Chesapeake for a myriad of different reasons.
Many people feel a distinct calling to give back to their community and take great pride in the City of Chesapeake. These individuals give of their time unselfishly to make their city a better place for their family and future generations.
Many volunteer as a way to better their community, while others view volunteerism as a way to better themselves. There are many who opt to volunteer in a certain capacity to explore future career goals or possible changes, while others look for on-the-job experience.
Whatever your motivation, the City of Chesapeake has a wonderful Volunteer opportunity just waiting for you!
