City Of Charleston is Hiring an Irrigation Technician Near Street, SC
We are looking for an Irrigation Technician to join the City of Charleston's Parks Department! In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of the City’s irrigation systems to include but not limited to basic design and interpretation of blueprints, drawings and manufacturer's operating and/or maintenance specifications as they relate to irrigation systems.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Installs, identifies, repairs, modifies and maintains the City's irrigation systems including irrigation lines, valves, heads, etc. Designs simple irrigation systems. Operates a variety of hand-held manual, electrical and gas-powered tools, devices and equipment used in irrigation systems. Also operates motorized equipment such as backhoe, trencher and skid steer loader as needed.Reads and interprets irrigation blueprints and plans.Inspects irrigation systems installed by private contractors on City property and facilities.Responds to emergency situations related to irrigationPrepares reports and maintains detailed written records of maintenance activities, completed work orders and irrigation blueprintsPerforms preventive maintenance according to assigned schedules or when directed.Monitors irrigation contracts to ensure compliance with City guidelinesUsually works independently. Occasionally Supervises grounds maintenance crew of various sizes depending on scope of project. Performs any other related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Experience with commercial irrigation and centralized irrigation control systems.
