Job Description Summary
Under the general supervision, the Multimedia Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing effective communications targeted to a wide variety of audiences in an impactful and strategic way. This position works collaboratively with departments to develop, implement,
and manage effective communications utilizing social media, digital platforms, print and video to create community dialogue to ensure the public is well-informed about city projects, services, operations, events, and infrastructure. Qualifications
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Skills with still camera, video camera, lenses, lighting, microphones, backdrops, tripods, gimble device
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.), Microsoft Office, mobile creativity apps, and social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
• Ability to manage competing priorities with frequent interruptions and inflexible deadlines
• Ability to respond appropriately to requests and inquiries, make sound decisions and effectively handle stressful situations in a professional manner
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with citizens, businesses, and employees to achieve camaraderie, keep people informed, and execute plans
• Skill and discretion in handling sensitive, sometimes confidential, information
• Must be able to work some holidays, weekends, or after hours for special events, meetings or during emergency situations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree gained through a four-year college/university academic program or specialized technical training of equivalent length in the field of digital media and/or communication and engagement.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in social and digital media.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver"s license issued by the State of Texas.
