City of Brighton is Hiring an Oasis - Assistant Pool Manager Near Brighton, CO

Starting hiring salary - $21.75 hourly

DEFINITION

Responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance and operation of the aquatic environment with a strong focus in customer service, lifeguard direction, and pump room mechanics. This position must work well independently and with teams while providing excellent customer service, which supports the City of Brighton's mission and values.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Works under the supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator and Pool Manager. The Assistant Pool Manager supervises seasonal lifeguard staff and volunteers.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

  • Helps operate and maintain the facility's physical plant, including routine pool maintenance.
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with the public and staff.
  • Assists with training, supervision, and evaluation of lifeguards, instructors, and volunteers.
  • Assists with payroll and scheduling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

  • Pool chemistry, mechanical systems, and pool maintenance procedures.
  • State and county regulations regarding the operation of aquatic facilities.

Ability to:

  • Train, supervise, evaluate and schedule staff.
  • Communicate effectively in both speaking and writing.
  • Perform basic lifeguard duties, water safety instructions, First Aid and CPR.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school or equivalent required. Previous experience with administrative and/or supervisory skills in the aquatic environment, as well as familiarity with participating in and supervising swimming pool operations. Minimum of two (2) years' experience managing aquatic staff.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

Current American Red Cross LGI, WSI, Certified Pool Operator or Aquatics Facility Operator highly desired.

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
