Job Description

Job Description
Must possess a current certification by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or Pro-Board in Firefighter 1 & 2, a Missouri EMT license, and a CPR license to be considered for this position.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Firefighter I responds to and mitigates emergency fires and EMS calls. Under the direct supervision of a Fire Captain or Incident Commander, the firefighter controls and extinguishes fires, protects life and property, and maintains equipment according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the City of Branson. This position works under the direct supervision of a Fire Captain normally and reports indirectly to the Fire Commanders and Fire Chiefs.

WORK HOURS: Shift Work; Shift May Vary
WORK LOCATION: In and around the City of Branson, Missouri; This position requires work to be performed onsite.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING REQUIRED
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Current certification by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or Pro-Board in the following: Firefighter 1 & 2 is required.
A Missouri EMT license is required.
A current CPR license is required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
One (1) year of experience is preferred.
National Registry EMT (NREMT) is preferred.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with Fire leadership in achieving those goals.
Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers.
Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
Vision must be correctable to 20/40; must pass the Ishihara color vision test and/or be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing red, green, and amber; and must meet established hearing standards as outlined in NFPA 1582.
Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work.
Must be able to pass a background investigation, drug and alcohol screenings, and post-offer medical evaluation.
