TEMPORARY PART TIME – Staff Assistant -BLOOMINGTON COMMUNITY FARMERS’ MARKET

DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the on-site management of the Tuesday Farmers’ Market. Works to ensure the safety of the vendors and customers, sets up and tears down the Market, and collects vendor fees. Oversees issuing and redeeming Market Bucks, staffs the Market information table, assists with distribution of City program information and Market related products, and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school education or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Some college preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Preferred: Experience in event coordination, gardening/farming and/or local foods and customer service.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

Genuine enthusiasm for the Farmers’ Market, ability to exercise good judgment and accountability, excellent communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks. A considerable amount of physical effort is required to accomplish job duties in a variety of weather conditions.

REQUIREMENTS:

Current Adult, Child and Infant CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain. Current driver’s license.

HOURS:

Tuesdays, June – September 1 pm – 8 pm.

SALARY:

$17.49 per hour
